Quests are challenges presented in the game. As of The Legend Returns Update (February 2017) there are 3300+ quests available to complete in the game.
Quests show up on the left hand side of a players Home Desktop. Quests can be part of a 6-quest sequence to combine a collection, with the first 5 quests asking to find each item belonging to the collection, and the 6th quest asking to combine the collection. Quests may also ask to find items unrelated to any known collections, or ask to investigate pictures in certain modes or to simply play a certain number of puzzle games.
Types of Quests[]
For the sake organizing Quest information on the wiki, 5 main types of Quests have been identified:
- General quests - perform a general task such as 'Explore any location in Morphs mode' or 'Use Tools five times'. These quests do not ask you to find a particular item.
- Collection Quests - find an item belonging to a collection in the game, or combine a collection.
- One-off Item Quests - find an item that does not belong to a collection in the game, or otherwise does not exist in the game or serve any function in the game.
- Advertising Quests - advertise the game on your social media.
- Timed Challenge Quests - a quest belonging to a set of special timed challenges released as part of an update.
The vast majority of Quests in the game are Collection Quests, with General Quests being the second most common type of Quest that players encounter. Timed Challenge Quests are usually just Collection Quests, but are kept as a separate category since some have become unavailable to play since the timed challenge they are associated with has ended.
One-off item quests are unique in the game, since they center around finding items that only appear once in the game, and appear to serve no other purpose in the game outside the Quest itself.

One-Off Item Quests[]
Some Quests ask the player to find items that do not belong to any collection. Some of these items will appear in the 'Different' tab of your Inventory once you win them, but they serve no purpose in the game and cannot be used. Others do not appear in any part of your inventory after you complete the Quest. The One-Off Item Quests at the beginning of the game tend to appear at random and come in groups, they are used to progress the story line of the game. The One-Off Item Quests later in the game are more likely to come after a particular set of Collection Quests, with the item being thematically related to the previous collections.
Examples of One-Off Item Quests are "Find the lost Mosaic Pieces by exploring magic pictures" or "Investigate the Mill in Pairs to find the Key to the Lock."
One-Off Item Quests are relatively rare in the game, with the vast majority of them having been introduced to the game quite early in the game's history. This means that they are more common when a player starts a new game, and become rarer as a player progresses through the Quests in their game (since later Quests added by later updates tend to appear after early Quests added by earlier updates in most playthroughs).
One notable exception to this is the Spring 2016 Update, which introduced 3 new One-off Item Quests interspersed among the usual Collection Quests added by the Update. These replaced the General quests (e.g. Quests that simply ask a player to win 3 puzzle games) that typically appear between different Collection Quest sequences in other recent updates to the game.
One-off Item Quests are the Quest type that creates the most confusion among players who are new to the game. Since the vast majority of Quests in the game are Collection Quests, players come to expect that the item they are asked to win in a Quest belongs to a Collection in the game. When a player encounters a One-off Item Quest, and then looks through the Collections list to find the item the Quest refers to, they will not find it since it does not actually belong to any Collection. There is no indication in the game that this Quest or the item the Quest asks the player to find is different to the more common Collection type Quests.
To add to the confusion, the game has changed how it deals with One-Off Item Quests over time. The first few One-Off Items that were added to the game remained in a player's inventory after the Quests for them were completed. These items appear in the 'different' tab of the Inventory, and include the 'Mosaic pieces' and the 'Order Founders Pictures'. Once acquired, these items remain in the different tab of the inventory and serve no other purpose in the game. They are never referenced by later Quests and cannot be 'used' in game play. Tapping on them in the Inventory just brings up a brief description of the item. It is unlikely that these items will ever be needed in the game (unless a purpose for them is added by an Update, however, it is much more likely that an update would just quietly remove them from the Inventory than create a use for them). After the 1.3 update to the game, all One-Off Items won during One-Off Item Quests disappear as soon as they are won. They do not go into any part of a player's inventory. They only exist in the game for the short period of time they are needed for the Quests. Again, they serve no purpose in the game other than for the completion of the Quest themselves.

Below is the list of One-Off Item Quests in the Secret Society - Hidden Mystery game.
Quests are listed in the order that they were added to the game, and not necessarily the order in which players will receive them in their own games.
Players can have multiple quests active at the same time, and may complete these in any order. Some quests may not start until a player opens a certain picture or puzzle, and other quests cannot start until a related quest is completed. This means that it is highly unlikely that any player will complete their quests in the exact order given below.
Note1: As with any aspect of the game, a new game update could significantly change any of the information given below. New updates have changed older quest requirements in the past to accommodate newly added pictures and puzzles. The early quests in the game may look very different to a player starting the game today compared to someone who played them 2 years ago or even 1 year ago due to changes made by updates in the interim, and it is possible that they will change again. Even the rewards for completing Quests can be changed by Updates to the game. This information is up-to-date as of the Spring 2016 Update. It may not be feasible to re-check every single quest in the game every single time a new update is released to confirm whether or not they have been changed by that update.
Note2: There are items that are the result of more than one quest, such as Cocoa. When these are encountered, they are labelled with a (1) and a (2) based on the order in which they were introduced into the game
